About Me

My Photo
Michelle Azar
I'm a Christian, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend, and an unemployed teacher taking advantage of this extended vacation by improving my cooking, photography, and crafting skills (and blogs). My wonderful husband, Mario, says things like, "Don't forget to pack your knicks and knacks," and, "What are Q-tips called?" Some of my favorite things to do (other than cooking, photography, and crafting) are reading and watching John Cena movies! I hope you enjoy my blogs and thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Invites

Yes, I know we just celebrated Thanksgiving and we're preparing for Christmas, but I have to post our Halloween party invites. Our Sunday School class has a Halloween party every year and we decided to host it this time around. It was lots of fun! I sent out these invites to everyone, even though we already knew who was coming! :) Click on each image for more detail.

3 Birthdays

I have 3 unique birthday cards to share with you today. I love the fact that the designs are endless when it comes to handmade cards!

Best friend, Kalene: We've been friends since we were in 7th grade and have been through so much together! Love her so much!

Friend's husband, Brett: His nickname is "Buddha" so it was only fitting that his card have a Buddha on it!

Great, great friend, Christa: We used to teach together and go to the same church. Mario and I are blessed to have her family in our lives!

Happy Anniversary!

I got to make this fun anniversary card for a great couple in our Sunday School class! They have been teaching the class and have really demonstrated what it means to love one another! Thanks, A&R!

Recent Cards

I have 3 fun projects to share with you today, all of which are cards I made for special occasions: 2 birthdays and a baby! I've got way more time on my hands nowadays so I've been making cards like crazy. Do I always remember to photograph them? NO! Oops! At any rate, enjoy and I hope you're inspired!

Card for B.O.B (Baby of 'B' - their last name)
They don't know the gender yet so I tried to make the card as gender neutral as possible. She loves ladybugs so if it's a girl she'll decorate with those, but when she saw the turtles she said, "If it's a boy I'm using turtles in his room!" Is it a sign? I don't know! I added glitter to the turtle shells to just give it that little something extra.
I kept the inside simple by framing the writing space in blue glitter. I felt like the stripes on the front were busy enough and didn't want to overload the inside.
I carried the turtles onto the backside where I always sign my cards, and I added the glitter on to these two turtles as well.

Living Room

We used a part of our tax refund to get us a new couch and rug for the living room. We really like the combination of red, brown, and gold-tan (camel?). Our living room feels very comfortable as well as upscale, even none of our things were expensive at all!

Zebra Table

Not much explanation is needed! Computer Man did roll his eyes, though, when he saw this table! [Insert evil laugh here.]

Current Table and Past Tables

I didn't grow up in a home that had the table always neatly decorated like Pottery Barn. My mom's table contained the obligatory napkin holder with the salt and pepper shakers on either sides as well as the occasional set of holiday placemats. I got into tablescapes because of my dear friend, Lacee. She is an expert in home decor and her style rubbed off on me, but I got to teach her some great recipes and help her enjoy cooking more than she had in the past!

Can you believe I forgot to take pictures of this table?! I can't! It was very similar to last year's table, though, so you get the point!
